The Nine Arts of Magic
Elementalism – The study of the 4 elements of the universe and the sorcery of Air, Earth, Fire & Water. Summoning and control of Nature’s most powerful creatures.
Demonology – The study of demons and the Abyss. Demons gain their power from the consumption of the soul of a victim and the demonologist exploits this to summon, bind and generally control (though not always!!) demons.
Necromancy – The study of the Undead and the Nine Planes of Hell. Necromancers are adept at the sorcery of controlling and summoning undead and (at higher levels) devils. They also have a liking for the sorcery of death and destruction.
Illusionism – The study of misdirection and illusions. The illusionist will attempt to deceive and to fool the victim and at higher levels these skills can alter reality.
Power Words – The most ancient form of sorcery. The creator of the universe (Promethius) is said to have shaped the universe by the use of the 9 words of power. The study and mastery of these nine words is, arguably, the most difficult (and most powerful) art of magic.
Rune Lore – The study of many ancient runes that act as triggers for effects and spells. Some very talented rune sorcerers can activate runes simply by visualising them in their minds.
The Paths – The study of spirits and the ability of divination or clairvoyance. Masters of The Paths are able to study a persons spiritual footprint and gain knowledge of that persons history or relative power.
Telepathy (Psionics) – The study and mastery of the mind. Telepathy involves telekinesis and mind control and anything involving the mind as a weapon / defence.
Sorcery – The study of the mechanics and philosophy of magic. This is your basic magic user in the classic sense…the person that studies sorcery in order to understand the workings of magic in the common universe.
