The death of Nirvanna

Sep 13th
The battle for Nevond Nevnend commences. Cedron has swept all before him; crushed armies, razed citadels and won against insurmountable odds. But Kiruk is a different kind of opponent. A brilliant tactician, fearless warrior and consummate sorcerer…when the battle starts the men of the Tenh exact heavy losses on the Darklanders.
Garrett Jax and Nirvanna are by Kiruk’s side. Their skill keeps Kiruk safe, two shadowy bodyguards that slay any who get too close. But Kiruk is prepared to lose in order to win. To sacrifice a wall to get Cedron’s forces into the killing ground of the city streets is his plan. At a certain point Kiruk gives the order and the outer walls are abandoned. Heavily channelled killing grounds lure many thousand Darklanders to their deaths.
Kiruk sets a murderous pace in the streets. His blade is seeped in blood and gore as the Darklanders finally meet their match. Nirvanna is by his side, her deadly blade sends many opponents to their deaths. Garrett is always close, his deadly knives pick out any hidden dangers.
From above the giants of Cilandon hurl rocks at the oncoming Darklanders. Aran Avan, the master of the Seven Valleys School, leads two hundred ninjas against Cedron’s men. The men of the Tenh slowly gain the upper hand. Cedron’s men have finally met their match; as their numbers fade it is clear that the day is lost.
But Cedron fights on. He moves like a deadly whirlwind, his blade carves a route to the heart of Tenh’s power base. In his way stands Nirvanna, a grin on her perfect face.
"Now you will taste death," she says.
Cedron exchanges blows with his niece. The young woman is perhaps his greatest foe and she pushes him back into an open courtyard where many ninja await. Nirvanna cuts him deeply across the chest and – when it appears that Cedron will die – he hits her with a Torren Strike. An undefendale blow with his sword cuts her down…he soul consumed in one awful moment.
The ninja close in.
Cedron raises his sword and looks desperately for Kiruk…but the warrior is nowhere to be seen. Resigned to his first defeat Cedron escapes the citadel of Nevond Nevnend and leaves his army behind to die at the hands of the people of Tenh.

The extreme cold and lack of sorcery defeat the two travellers. Try as they might they cannot reach the ice citadel of Rel Mord. But the two men find more than they bargained for in the wastelands. The tall dark figure of High Priestess Isula, Quizet Daesil’s Favoured One is before them.
Garret tries to raise a blade but the gnawing, debilitating cold has taken all the fight from him. Even Kiruk, spell-less, can feel the draining nature of the wastelands and cannot react to Isula’s attack.
Kiruk and Garrett Jax find themselves bound in the Abyss. Isula raises a small silver goblet to their lips.
"Drink this," she says, "it will ease your pain…"
